As Bon Jovi makes its way through Europe with its new full-scale stadium production, it's still missing a member.
Guitarist Richie Sambora has been away from the group since spring for unspecified personal reasons, and Jon Bon Jovi tells us that he remains absent with no firm return date in the offing:
"Same thing I've said since day one -- personal issue. We miss him, love him and he's welcome to come back when he's ready, and that's all I can tell ya...There's not a definitive date. It's up to...He's going through some stuff...It's difficult for me, too, but that's the story."
Bon Jovi launched its Because We Can world tour in February, and Sambora dropped out before a Canadian run began in early April. His own statements about leaving have been vague as well. He missed some dates on the group's 2011 tour as well to go into rehab.
Bon Jovi will be in Europe through July 5 before returning to the U.S. for stadium dates in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Foxborough, Mass., and East Rutherford, N.J. The group also has dates in Mexico, South America and Australia on the books, as well as another North American arena run in the fall.
