The happy road warriors of Halestorm have maintained their active touring schedule in recent months, but the group did pause for a moment to enjoy the recent arrival of its Grammy Awards trophy that it received in February for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance.
Frontwoman Lzzy Hale tells us the band is still stoked about the honor but that it hasn't made a great difference in its approach to touring and playing music:
"There's been a few opportunities as far as just tours, like great tours and better venues. I think the illusion of it all, there's a lot of people that think, 'Oh, wow, they're rich now.' No. The Grammy didn't come with a million dollars. We just got a statue...I think the only thing we've really aid between ourselves is maybe we should practice more, 'cause we have a Grammy and people expect more from us. So maybe we should work on being better musicians~!"
But, Hale adds, winning the Grammy did establish an even tighter bond between the four group members:
"It's more personal between the four of us. It's a milestone. We've been a foursome for 10 years now, so for the Academy to recognize that and that we've been working hard and to know who the hell we are is an honor in itself. I think it's more for us, not necessarily for everybody else. We get to look at our Grammys and say, 'Look guys, we did this together, and we're still here.' "
Halestorm will be touring North America into mid-September, including dates with 3 Doors Down and Daughtry. The group then starts a European tour with Alter Bridge on October 16.
